Subject: splitting the case
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Another thing I forgot to ask when I mentioned that I plan to split my case tomorrow....

From what I remember of the first time, it seems that I'll only have to take one head off and remove the main bolts, then the oil pump and flywheel, and the rest of the small bolts around the outside of the case. I have one spare head gasket to replace that one, but do I also need to replace those metal ring gaskets at the tops of the cylinders? And the o-rings that go in there?

And as far as other gaskets, what do I need to remove and replace? My plan is to split the case and pull it apart just enough to put some new sealant in there and bolt it back up. Do I need to take the pistons off the rods? I remember that was the hardest part...
