The person I got my totally rusted out AW from will most likely get a Sprinter because VW doesn't offer a vehicle that suits her needs. She's owned two VW split window buses, both cherried out and all the good tech goodies as well, because she traveled cross country a lot in them. Black ice got one, engine fire the other. Never had A N Y problems with her gas heaters, she loved them!

Then she got the vanagon AW, and she used it for years until it rusted away. She doesn't like looks of the EV, and had hopes for the new "retrobus" but thought it was too wonky looking.

She also has a nicely kept up '90 VW cabriolet, and wanted to get another camper van the size of a vanagon, and is "bugged" that VW doesn't sell one like it in the US.

Since VW isn't a choice for her anymore, she likes the ability to choose between several different configurations with the Sprinter, and the diesel, which she plans to run on biodiesel, "Like they were INTENDED to be!" says she.

There is a Sprinter based here (Fort Bragg, CA), actually two I believe, but I haven't checked one out closely yet. We only have one car dealer in town and it's a Dodge dealer.

A Sprinter is too large for me though, I'll stick with a vanagon unless I can find a unimog cheap.

Derek -

81 Vanagon AW - rust bucket Looking for THE cheap, errr.... affordable Syncro. I Love to Barter!
