Subject: bad propane regulator?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

hey all i got a brand new propane tank. i hooked everything up after doing the soapy water trick i can visually find no leaks. but if i put my head by the tank and it is on i can smell the gas. here's the thing it does not smell like clean propane, it kind of smells metallicy (is that a word?). wondering if this is being emitted thru the screen on regulator. my instincts tell me you are not supposed to smell anything, but i never had one of these westies before so maybe this is sorta normal. could this be an indication that my regulator is bad even though the tank is new? FWIW the stove and fridge work fine so gas is moving around good, and i smell nothing inside the van just on the outside and it is slight at best. i just don't want to drive by someones camp fire and explode them and me! jason
