Subject: Gas mileage problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

My recently acquired '84 Westy was getting about 275 miles per tank of gas (the needle was just dipping into the red section when I refilled). Now on the same tank of gas, I'm already in the red section at 145 miles. Any thoughts as to why my fuel mileage would drop so substantially? Is it possible that the fuel guage is faulty? I checked the tire pressure and its set at 38psi in front and 44psi in the rear. Also, the exhaust does not smell overly like unburnt fuel.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Ryan
