Gnarlie is correct, putting the "http://" in front and the "/" on the end makes it a *complete* URL, which can be handled by *any* browser or e-mail app. on *any* platform.

*Some* applications (like outlook express) can handle incomplete URLs, but *not all* are smart enough to handle them... If you want your URLs to work for everybody, you should make them complete, whether they are in the body of your e-mail, in your e-mail signature, or links on a web page you are designing. Completeness counts!
