I don't mean to be a smart ass (or maybe I do), but do you realize that your "Squeaky Fromme" is 1020 years old? I think that qualifies it for smog exemption here in CA.

I would think it is likely a fuel pump problem. But I am no certified mechanic. I would crawl underneath see how the fuel lines look first. Look for signs of leaks--moist or corroded joints often suck air.
