Jack--

I think the clocks not running fast, your bus is just extremely slow. That's one of the drawbacks of the Vanagon.

Truth is get a later model dash pod from an 86-91 with a tach. Take out you're old pod, swap the speedo if you want to keep the mileage accurate and put the laer modle pod with tach in your bus. You'll have to rearrange a few wires on the connection plug and run a wire from the coil to the tach wire hookup. Somewhere in the archives are the wire changes you'll have to make or some one will chime in.

This later model pod with tach will have the correct blue circuit board to operate the tach and digital clock that will be included. And it will have a solid piece of clear plastic over the tach--not the clear plastic with the hole to adjust the analog clock.

Find a pod with tach on ebay, in a wrecking yard, or from someone on the list. They're always coming up for sale. It's a great upgrade and has the temp gauge, fule guage, digital clock, tach, and speedo...oh, and idiot lights.
