someone asking about a 1980 bus made me remember something that
happened on my old 80 bus, way back when ...


- 1980 had a problem with the passenger side door lock/latch. with the
button down, you could pull the inside door latch and the door would
open! this was fixed in 82, so all you need to do is find an 82 (or
later) passenger door in a junkyard and get the big brass part that is
on the outer/rear edge of the door. it swaps out perzactly with the 80
bus, and prevents the door from being opened when the button is down
(so some kid can't open the door).


so all of you with 1980 and 1981 buses might want to check on that. it
might have been fixed ... and it might not have.
