A friend of mine has an 89 Westy and he is getting exhaust bubbling up through the coolant reservoir. Not real serious yet as he has to be driving 65 or more MPH to cause coolant to leak out the overflow reservoir. I think he has a deep crack in one of the heads which is allowing exhaust to push into the cooling water jacket when the engine gets hot enough. Any opinions on how to fix this would be nice, or does he have to replace the head(s)? I thought we might retorque the head bolts before going any further. Thanks! TEMiller |
