Sports Cars do not have to go fast. Fast cars are not necessarily Sports Cars.

the MG Midget, MG B, Austin Healey Sprite, Early Jaguars (120/150s), Porsche 356, Mazda Miata, etc are all examples of sports cars that are not fast. Many people confuse "Touring Sedans" or fast cars as sports cars.

Sports Cars are made for the sole purpose of driving. They are not designed for storing luggage, towing capacity, a good sound system, Air Conditioning or great heat, quiet and smooth ride, or any other similar deeds. In many cases even the basic "needs" of the driver are neglected, since good heat, weathertightness, wind noise, etc are all of a secondary importance to the driving experience. This is one difference between drivers and steering-wheel-holders. You should not expect to drive a Sports Car 12 hours (or even 5 hours for that matter) somewhere and arrive "fresh". They are wonderful for short jaunts though (invigorating).
