Subject: Volkswagen part numbers
Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII

i was wondering if anyone knows of a source for identifying which of the first three digits of volkswagen part numbers go with which volkswagen chassis. for example all of the vw part numbers that start with 025 appear to be parts that were made exclusively for the vanagon chassis.

i'm not looking for old air cooled numbers i am primarily looking for water cooled numbers. i am making a small database of these numbers for myself for quick sorting reference, when dealing with my spare parts collection (read junk collection). i would be interested in any thing that you have but my primary interest is with the following vehicles.

75-80 scirocco I 81-88 scirocco II 81-84 rabbit 80-92 vanagon 87-90 fox 86-88 audi 5000 quattro 88-92 golf 88-92 jetta

thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

jonathan
