Karl-- This is a little useless but hopefully it will spark someone else to chime in. There is a shop in Boulder,CO- a few miles north of Denver-- that people seem to love to work on thier Vanagons and busses. Last time I was in Boulder the guy was doing Tiico conversions for folks, rebuilding engines, and the like. People around Boulder both in Vanagons and older busses spoke highly of him.

Of course I can't remember his name but hopefully someone will chime in.
