When I used to run Mobil 1 15w50, I would change it around 10-12k kms(6000-7500 miles), as I would start to get lifter noise again at that point. The last few years, I have used Amsoil 15w40 HD diesel oil (full synth), and I have gone up to two years and ~15k kms with no signs of lifter noise. (I only drive it for camping). I have heard of others going much more than 7500 miles on Mobil 1, and perhaps I could also if it were done in a shorter time interval. My 2.1L has 220k kms on a VW rebuilt engine. -- Shawn Wright http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright ~This message sent by Pegasus Mail, the safe E-Mail alternative~ "Friends don't let friends use Outlook" |
