Hi all I checked yesterday, it is "pheeeeeew" DOT4 only. What confused was reading in Bentley online about not using silicone fluid, and the sign on the DOT4 saying "synthetic brake fluid"........... Thanx for the input - I was in a scare some hours untill I got home to the Vanagon and checked. I have brakefluid leaks coming down the clutch pedal and dripping a bit on the floor (and my shoes) as well as setting a distinctive smell in the bus. It is very little, not a flood, not a drip, just a "moist spot" on the floor. I have a leak at the left fronthand wheel, where the brakepipe connects to the caliber. Very small leak. I will look into it. Since I filled up with brakefluid, I havent needed any topup. The ½ liter I added was when I bought the Vanagon. In fact, I drove it home without thinking of the brakefluid, since I am used to driving a Citroen BX, where suspension and brake system is linked together in the highpressure hydraulic system :) Happy driving and thank you all for being here Jens Jakob |
