Subject: Battery Leak
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Folks, Hoping someone can suggest the best thing for me to try in this situation. I discovered that the batter casing had cracked and some of the acid has leaked into the battery compartment in my 81 Vanagon. It seems to have done nothing more in there but take the paint off. Some has leaked through the rubber grommet that the power cables feed through though and I see some whiteish crystals forming underneath there. Can I rinse the compartment with some baking soda and water or something to get rid of this stuff? Thanks James Juniper
