Subject: LVC shop heater
Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII
so this winter i bought old oil furnace to heat the vanagon shop next
winter. this thing is really old but in good shape. its one of those old
stand alone units that people used to have in their living room and it
heated the whole house. it doesn't need any electricity to run there, was
a blower fan at some point but its designed to run with or without it.
without it it runs in convection mode.
the guy that i bought if from had never run it but the owner before him
had used it to heat his garage and said it worked fine. i've tried
searching the net for information on this unit or a similar unit with no
luck. the thing that i really need to figure out is how one is supposed
to light the thing. the system layout is like this gravity tank to "carb"
to pipe that goes into a "pot" inside the heater. it almost looks like
you start a fire with some material in the pot and then turn the oil on.
the brand of heater is siegler if that makes any difference.
well if anyone knows about these things or where i might be able to dig up
some information please contact me.
