When I was getting ready to change out the motor in my old 70 bus, I decided to see what would happen if I drained out the oil and filled the crank case with water. It sure felt funny running the hose into the oil filler. I fired her up and the oil light turned off when the engine was up to speed. I drove around the neighborhood and it behaved ok. I didn't have the courage to run it up really hot, although there was steam coming out here and there..
