Syncro TriStar TDI = 70L of Diesel at $0.699 per liter = $48 Canadian, range
= ~740km, cost per km = $0.065
Syncro Westfalia 112i = 70L of premium at $1.019 per liter = $71 Canadian,
range = ~530km, cost per km = $0.135
Cost to equip TriStar with a TDI = $2500 Canadian (sold 112i motor for the
same as I bought the TDI for, did my own labour and electrical), so it would
take about 35 tanks of fuel to 'break even' with the TDI installation.
