Don't know, Vanagons didn't come with oil temperature gauges.

I'm not sure what you are asking. I doubt there are many listees that use their Vanagon as daily transportation anymore and put as many miles on as I do in a year.

I wasn't aware that doing research is pre-requisite for posting to this list. If that's true, it should cut down on message traffic significantly.

There is plenty of info out there about the benefits of using synthetic oil in all kinds of vehicles, some of it well researched and tested. Most come up with the same conclusion; it decreased engine wear..

BTW, I didn't see any of your research posted to back up your original claim, where is it?

I know of bus and truck fleets that are using Delvac 1, Mobil 1's product for large diesel motors. I'll be installing it in my motorcoach at my next oil change.
