there was some one on the list a short time ago that screwed up their bracket trying to do this. i'm not sure if it was due to improper pressing or a poor fit between the two. this has been discussed on the list in the past and i am very interested in knowing more also. although i have never heard of anyone mentioning success with doing this. i also believe that ken from vanagain had proposed back in the day making a better mount by merging the base of the bracket with the ring from a A1 passenger side mount. never heard if that actually got off of the drawing board.
