Actually I was the one who intially responded with a $100 bid below your
"starting" $150 price.  I agree that I should have used the p-mail option
instead of posting to the list.  Why only $100 - read on.

While open auctions are not specifically against the list etiquette
(http://gerry.vanagon.com/info/etiquette.html) I think most of us agree
that such practices, which can be percieved as underhanded attempts to
maximize one's profits, are not what this list is for.  There are people
who sell items here regularly and they usually post the item along with
the asking price and a request the be "p-mailed".  We generally do not get
to see updates and follow-ups on demand and current pricing strategies,
which is the very reason you got flamed so badly.

Of course, I am not the list admin, so my post is merely an opinion.

By the way, had you accepted my ridiculous bid I would have gladly paid
the $100, of course.

complaints and complain follow ups, along with grammar corrections and
