I have a 87 Wolfsburg, taking a 10 hour road trip on Thursday, I would like to know the proper way to turn off all the ambient air vents, so that I can get maximum air conditioning recirculation. As it stands, I live in Florida and we never use the heat, all the dash controls are pushed to the left, and both fan switches are completely to the left, I feel air coming in from the gap in the lower center of the dash, and behind me out of the doors.

Jerry I cut foam rubber plugs to fit in the 4-defroster outlets and inside the two heater duct openings. You can tape them over with duct tape if you like, the foam rubber makes it easier to remove and re-install.
