RYAN WROTE: >>Well, I thought that I had made the neccesary repairs and replacements to my >>fuel mileage problem. Below is a list of the adjustments that I have made: >>1. new fuel injectors (manufacturer - Echlin) >>2. new air filter >>3. new spark plugs (platinum) >>4. new oil and filter Ryan, I was having a similar problem with black plugs on our '85 1.9WBX. I checked every contact on the ECU plug and it all checked out with the chart in the Bentley book. The air flow meter was replaced with a spare (used) unit. This helped but the real cure was a new O2 sensor. What part number are your platinum plugs, are they the right heat range for you motor? The Bosch W7CC O is the plug recommended for the 1.9 motors. Good luck, George '85 Westfalia |
