Baby wipes (unscented is my preference), will remove ANYTHING. They clean old grease off your hands better than the fancy orange soap (depending on the thickness). Lots of cotton towels--I use blue scrub towels, but "shop towels" are just about the same. You can use them in the kitchen, trim, after a shower, on the tranny, whatever; they aren't supposed to be pretty, so wash them till they are beyond recognition. Five gallon bucket with tight lid, half-fill with water, add detergent and dirty clothes and drive all day. Rinse at night. ("Travels with Charley" by John Steinbeck in a proto-Westy) Ibid. on the hand whisk or broom, doormat, and dump your trash and wash your windshield at every gas stop. (Except for the recycle bag for some of us diehards). Check your oil and pink/orange/green(brown) coolant. Never, never, NEVER put rotten tuna fish down the drain of a Westy. Never pitch it out the window, either.... Great journey, great site, Joy. Scott |
