I´d say it doesn´t matter whatever sparkplug you use as long as it´s a good brand and properly adjusted ! The advantage of the multipoints are that they have lots of contactareas to build the spark but the singelpoint has only one which makes the size of the gap more critical ! So use whatever you think the engine deserves, if you choose to save some money for gas, dont xpect the gap to be right, take the time to check and you´ll have an engine that ( if everything else is ok ) runs like a champ anyway ! With the lower price on the singelpoint I dont mind changing them a little more frequently, worn down electrodes is not the only thing that hurt plugs, I´ve had some that broke in the body as well ....
