Subject: Re: Switch circuit to Aux Battery ??

Fuse 3 is removed and left out but another fuse is added to take it's job. That is why I said to put a fuse on the wire you run from the aux bat to the fuse panel. Get an inline fuse holder and put it in the wire near the end at the aux battery. 15 amp should do.

A fuse is nothing more than a special piece of wire that melts when too much current flows through it. The wire (fuse) connects the power source (battery) to the power consumers so electricity flows through it whenever the consumers are turned on. When you remove the fuse, power no longer flows through to the consumer. Fuse 3 has 2 legs with the tiny special wire connecting them. Both legs plug into slots in the fuse panel. The top slot connects to the main battery. The bottom slot connects to wires that go from there to the radio, interior lights, cig lighter socket. With fuse 3 pulled, the slots are empty and the special wire is not there to connect the main battery to the bottom slot. When you plug a wire from the aux bat into the bottom slot the radio, lights, and cig socket will get their power from the aux bat.
