I don't think this is bad... there are splines on both side of the VC so what difference does it make? Most VCs that I remove stay in the differential because the diff is sitting on a floor and gravity makes it go that way. I really don't think there is anything magical about installing one.

hey all, thanks to derek drew i have a brand spankin new vc to instal. well, i followed the procedures from the archives and the syncro list, all is going smooth except, the vc wants to come out with the rear housing of front diff. it is my understanding that this is bad. well, i can't figure out how to get the vc to stay on the front diff. does it really matter if it comes out with rear housing? it seems to me that since the diff is installed in the vehicle still, the vc would be a real PITA to get out of the rear housing with all skid plates in the way. so, how do i get the vc to stay with the front diff? i can kind of get it to slide a little if i jiggle the rear housing back and forth, but i can't get a grip on it. i definelty do not want to ram something up there and start pryin on it for obvious reasons, or do i? any help would be great thanks jason
