When the lifters bleed down on my Westy, it takes 20 to 30 minutes for them to pump back up. I run Mobil 1 15w-40 all year (southern climate) and I think that just might help you as well. Straight 40-weight does not flow as well as 15-w40 when cold, and good-flowing oil is what you need to pump up those lifters.

I always make it a point to drive my Westy at least once on each weekend now that it's not hauling me and my children around full-time, and that definitely seems to keep Camel, and me, much happier.
