Subject: Oil halfway up dipstick=Higher Oil Pressure

So, per Dennis Haynes' and the list's advice I tried draining out some oil- after discovering how low my pressure was when I installed a gauge. I always drove my van with oil just over the top line on the dipstick thinking that this would give me more pressure. I let the oil down to halfway between full and refill on the dipstick line (2.1L WB stock 158K miles). My oil pressure went from near zero at hot idle to about 5PSI and I had 5-10 more PSI and about 40 to 50 degree F cooler oil at highway speeds. I wish I would have known about this sooner. Advice to all: don't let your oil to the full line and dont' let it below the refill line. Dixon
