About two weeks ago I posted asking for the part number for the connector which fits on the circuit board in the differential lock dash components. The circuit board is part number 251-919-181.

Mark Drillock responded with the correct part number-- 321 971 998A and Todd Last confirmed that. I also want to thank Jim Thompson of oldvolkshome who did lots of research on this part.

I was able to obtain the connector from VW so it is still available. We all have bad experiences with VW so it might surprise you that my local VW parts guy offered to order in every available 6-pin connector (at no cost to me) until he found the right one. He had already gotten 2 or 3 in when I gave him the number.

Sometime in the future I will post all the parts needed by those of us blessed with 2-wd vans who wish to add a differential lock. Derek Drew has a list of most of the parts but was missing this connector as well as a few other odds and ends.
