This is UNTRUE for me. I ran just about ONLY Bosch Platinum single tip plugs in my 73 modified 2L VW Bus and a I used a Crane Red coil and various electronic ignition systems and the coil has lasted over TWELVE (12) years and was working just fine when I sold it about a year ago. Got 19 mpg in town and 20+ on highway

I am using Bosch Quad tip plugs in my 2.1L and have not had any problems with my coil.
