I've been running Syncro springs on the rear of my 84' Westy for about a year now. While checking the transaxle fluid the other day, I noticed that one of my CV boots have gone bad. That makes two going bad within a year. The boots are the high quality German ones. I'm begining to wonder if the suspension is just too maxed out in height and the axles are running at too high of an angle for the boots. I understand that the Syncro transmission is located lower in the frame, so the axles don't run as much of an angle as they are currently in my 84 2WD. In addition, I think I may have also ruined my newer KYB shocks due to overextending when hitting holes in the road. The Syncro springs make the ride very stiff. I must say the ride is much rougher than an 86' Syncro I previously ownded. However, the Syncro was a passenger model and not a Westy. I had originally installed these to get rid of the rear end squat and in anticipation of putting a heavy duty bumper with motorcycle carrier attachment on the back (of which I still haven't got around to yet). Just looking for some thoughts on this. If the overextension possibillity happens to be the case, I would like to find out purchasing information for the bladders that go inside of the coil springs and find out if they are worthwhile.
