Subject:   heads up...seam rust on vanagons w/ fiberglass bodykit

heres a heads up. the fiberglass bodykits on the carats/wolfsburgs, and later model GL's look really cool..but they also hide seam rust.. which can be a good or bad thing. if youve patched it, and want to hide you patch, its a good thing. but if you own a original fiberglass bodykitted vanagon, and live in the NE, its a good idea to take a 10mm socket and extension and unbolt the drivers side piece (it hinges up) and take a peek under there.. might be suprised what you see..

i just removed the drivers sideskirt from a 90 carat im parting out..and there was a huge rust hole back there on the horizontal seam..

what you can't see can hurt you..
