I am about to purchase a new exhaust for the 1984 Vanagon named "Squeaky" and I was trying to figure out the book time to remove and reinstall a whole new exhaust.

< < That's a trick question ! It all depends on how many exhaust studs and bolts break and have to be drilled, tapped, helicoiled, or repaired in some weird fashion. Clean up time of the exhaust port gasket surface may also be necessary as may be the gasket surface of the new pipe flanges. Every case is different. I have seen in my shop a wide range of scenarios ! No way to make an estimate ! < <
