This is exactly what mine does down here in Florida, doesn't seem to be a problem, the fan blows on high most of the time, and the temp gauge stays at around the 40%, I just drove 1500 miles through the mountains of North Carolina, and the temp gauge would climb to about 60% while climbing steep grades, with 4 guys in the van, and 4 mountain bikes on the roof and a van full of camping gear.

That doesn't sound too unusual. My Volvo's fan clutch will kick in if I idle for more than a few minutes with the A/C on, and it's only been in the 80s here. The A/C puts a pretty decent load on the engine, plus it dumps more heat in front of the radiator, and when you're not moving the only way to get any cooling is for the fan to run.

What's your temperature gauge doing? Is it getting close to the right edge?
