I will add: Yes, they seem to be osram/sylvania "74".

I purchased some at my FLAPS for about $2 each. They can also be bought for about $0.66 here: <http://www.topbulb.com/find/Product_Description.asp?intProductID=42598>

Amazingly, I just paid over $4.50 each for some, by ordering bulbs for a *73 beetle* from Bus Depot. They don't actually FIT a 73 beetle... (like the website said they would) They are quite clearly the wrong ones, but they do fit the vanagon, and for only 2-1/2 times what I pay for them locally....

Anyone know where I can find bulbs for a 73 beetle?
