You will ground one lead of the meter to the engine, and run the other lead to the O2 sensor. It puts out less than 1 volt. Most meters will have a 1.5 volt scale, this is where it should be set. DC range. The O2 sensor puts out very low current. Adding the meter, could give you a false reading, because a cheap meter will add a load to the circuit, witch draws down the real output voltage.
