The title of this email should have been "How come nobody wants a van?". Standard Vanagons are just that. Yes, they are cool and I briefly considered one until I found my '85 Wolfsburg camper which will seat 6 people with seatbelts, sleep 4 and it has a pop-top. So, if you like adventure and camping, the Westfalia is obviously a much better alternative, even as a daily transport.
