I´m not sure if this is what you´re asking for but in Europe the VW Golf was (is?) equipped with a factory antenna on the roof ! With an extension wire this fitted right onto my Vanagon ( took it off later in favour of a cellphone unit so I have no pic´s ) and looked really cool with a 45 degree angle backwards ! Was bought from the VW dealer at the same cost as any FLAP carantenna !
