Erin,

Anything will sell it is just a question of price. 1985 standard Vanagons with weepy heads are easy to come by under $500 w/o any rust in my area for instance. At $100, people will line-up to buy it. At $1500, the seller may have to wait a few years for the right buyer. Unfortunately, we rarely get a dollar for every dollar we put into our vans. Same is true for most "normal" cars. The exception would be vehicles which cross the junk car to collector car divide. At the moment, an 85 Vanagon has not made it across that border yet. So the answer to your dilemma is lower the price. Either that or sell it in pieces. These vans are usually worth less as a whole than in parts. It comes down to $$$.

Cheers, BenT
