Subject:      Leaky sink trap

So I took the plastic trap apart in my 84 Westy and now the rubber gasket
between the two plastic halves is not sealing tight.  I didn't rip it but it
does seem a bit stretched out.  Can this be replaced or do I have to buy a
whole new trap?  Will plumbers putty work?
Any suggestions appreciated.
