Hi List, I have an '85 Westfalia. The motor was rebuilt about 20,000 kms ago and the heads were off again about 10,000 kms ago (because of faulty rubber gaskets). I beleive the valves are noisy, (not the lifters). What is the correct procedure to check and adjust the valves. I would prefer to work with a cold motor. I understand that there are different theorys about 0 lash and .006" gap etc. Also would this be a good time to check the torque on the head bolts or should I leave well enough alone. If anyone can point me to a ready made "how to" I would be gratefull. Thanks, George '85 Westfalia |
