Greetings Listees:
I'm in the middle of an attempt to retrofit a jetta tachometer into the dashboard clock space of my 83 Westy. Being a Franken-project to begin with, and coupled with my complete lack of knowledge and experience with things electronical, it is not proceeding as smoothly as I had imagined it would.
Some one suggested that acquiring a PCB from a Vanagon that had a factory tachometer might make life quite a bit easier. Can anybody confirm or deny this?
I've inquired at the local Vanagon Graveyard, no luck on the PCB I need. I talked to the local VW dealer; they wanted ~$270 Canadian for a PCB
Does any kind listee know where I may acquire the Instrument Cluster Printed Circuit Board from a later 80s Vanagon that is tachometer compatible?
Cheers
