Hi Volks, We live in British Columbia and we have travelled all over in our westy in winter and very cold temps. I guess it really depends on how comfortable you want to be and what your going to bring. When we bought our '84, we specifically looked for one with the stock gas heater. This thing is awesome, it's almost instant heat and even though it cuts out after 12 minutes, with two people and a dog in there it stays warm for quite some time. If you have an auxillary battery and some way of charging it you could actually keep running this sucker as long as you want, but remember you are using up gas Anyway we find this good for our purposes, but we sleep in sleeping bags and don't run heat at night. Hi

I find people telling me that a BN-2 heater will never be enough for the Vanagon?

So it inspires to ask y'all with additional heaters:

* How many watts do you have? * How cold is your climate? * What is enough?

Lets make a poll and get factual wiser ;-)

Happy heating

JJ
