Not really. Do the job when the engine is cold. Then top off your
expansion tank, and put in just enough coolant into the overflow tank to
reach the bottom to mid-level marker on the tank. That should be
sufficient. Then go for a drive and check the overflow tank coolant
level. It should be up near the top mark when hot.

If there is to much coolant, not to worry. There are vent holes in the
overflow tank put there just for such an eventually. Any excess coolant
will  simply run out on the ground.
