Rusty,

I agree (w/Eric)... I just spent $2200 and 4 wks getting the A/C
to work in my 84 Westy... replaced the compressor, and the next
weakest link blew, and so on and so on... effectively every major
component and all lines have been replaced.  I used all new parts,
so natch they are super expensive, but I have a fear of used parts
for any major systems in my vehicles.

Be prepared for difficulty; if you're a drinkin' man, keep a
frosty one nearby to ease any frustration!
