Subject: Immediate Help Needed With Air-Cooled Heater Hose!
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

HELP!

I owe an enormous debt to a Porsche shop that helped me out in my conversion of my '87 GL to Porsche power. Now they have ask a favor in return.

They are working on a restoration of a 1959 Porsche Carrera Twin Cam. They need heater hose from the Esbarcher (O.K., flame me for the spelling, but you get the idea). They know that I'm good at finding parts, so they called me. They need these parts as quickly as possible.

This hose is the sort of metalized paper, accordion style stuff. They told me that it was 72˝mm in diameter. We need about 2 meters of the stuff.

I'm thinking that some of the older air-cooled Vanagons had something like this. In my pile of parts from an old parts van that I had I found a part that nearly fit this description. The neck was just about 77˝mm at either end, but then it gets wider. This piece is just a bit longer than a meter. Anyone know where in the air-cooled Vanagon heating system this piece came from. I have another piece, but its dimensions are different.

I hope that this e-mail doesn't sound too crazy, but they are in a hurry, and I'm in a frenzy trying to help pay back a few favors I owe them. All help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Bruce
