Chris,

Drove to Vancouver and beyond in that condition (from Phoenix). Also, a quick trip to the Bay Area, and several other road trips here and there.

Gotta admit that it does sound a bit different though. Not louder, but perhaps a bit throatier?

Karl

Actually, I bought my Camel in June and went on a camping trip to Upper Peninsula of MI in July. I drove 840 miles to my Mom and Dad's house in one day and 360 miles to UP the next. I drove around UP, camped, and 5 days later drove back to Detroit Metro and the next day back to Alabama, 840 miles, all WITHOUT a tailpipe. About 70 miles north of my destination my catalytic converter committed suicide and emptied itself into the muffler. Since I could no longer cruise at 75 I fixed the clogged stock muffler by bashing it open with a hammer and proceeded on my way.

Sorry Eric, your theory just doesn't add up when backed up by my experience.
