Eric:

It is really strange. The wiring harness in the Jetta has a three conductor plug for the ISV. But the ISV connector only has two conductors. They mate with the outer two in the wiring harness plug. Someone may have changed my Vanagon harness to accept the Jetta ISV before I bought it. My friends 87 Vanagon's ISV has a two pin connection, but the pins are closer together. What gives here?

TEMiller

Not without changing the plug.
