Caverat,

It seems like the only time you post to the list is when you are shilling for Sirius. You've made 39 posts and 35 of them are pushing Sirius satellite radio. Are you like that guy on TV that "unofficially" works for Wendy's.

I'm glad you like your satellite radio service. I, myself am a XM subscriber. But that has no bearing on the discussion.

Lighten up on the sales pitch.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.....

Sorry to hear you didn't like the service. With over 100 channels, most people will find several that they like. I personally think the programming has improved, and I never listen to the hardrock, sports, or partyline conservative talk shows. There are many other options that I like better. They have dropped not-as-popular channels and added new ones in their place. Several more channel changes are coming in a few days. They do listen to all suggestions though, but they make channel content decisions for business reasons to attract more people to the service. Here's a customer service response posted on a newsgroup to their approach:

"We do our best to accommodate all of our listeners and their wants and needs. In having to deal with a large audience (all of America) we do our best to appeal to the most of our subscribers and visitors, as we consider our customers in every move we make. As SIRIUS does not add commercials to our music streams, changes and additions to our service and website are driven by our customers rather than dictated by advertisers and we are forwarding your comments to our programming team for review. We rely on the input of all of our subscribers as every minor consideration is still a consideration we want to be able to make. We are dedicated to providing quality service and customer satisfaction. We encourage comments on how we can improve our service."

Even though you consider it spam, it is not intended to be. It may be somewhat off topic, but to me it also has to do with making a vanagon driving experience even more enjoyable. The Elvis Radio item is getting a lot of press, and I figured there must be a least one listmember who would be interested in the news.
